Kelley + Carter: Swedenborgian Church Wedding in San Francisco, Pt. 1

Kelley + Carter had their wedding ceremony in Pacific Heights, then took a cable car ride to their reception at a hip wine bar in SOMA -- how San Francisco cool can you get?! The whole day was an ode to all that is perfect about the Bay.

Coming together for the first time in the art deco library for their "first look," Kelley + Carter got to share a few kisses and good luck squeezes before their guests arrived.

Their intimate wedding ceremony took place in the lush garden outside the Swedenborgian Church, and was followed by a joyful champagne toast. Everyone was beaming, completely thrilled to have witnessed the beautiful ceremony of Kelley + Carter.

We are so happy for Kelley + Carter and wish them a marriage steeped in bliss, delight and so much love!!

Nine years ago we went on our very first date -- an epic night that included a long drive north from Seattle on I-5 to a random karaoke bar in Marysville, throwing pots in the ceramics studio on the UW campus, with the radio blasting, and jumping into the freezing water of Lake Washington around 2am. Sam of course brought a camera with him and we have this one shot (taken on a roll of film) from that fabulous night!

Secret Concert on Mt. Tam

As wedding photographers, most weekends you'll find us documenting a first kiss at the Mark Hopkins or getting playful bridal party photos, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. But when a free weekend does pop up, we make sure to get out of San Francisco and get some nature time.

Last Sunday we were invited to a secret concert on Mt. Tam with two awesome bands, Tiny Home and TaughtMe. The map to the secret "stage" included photos of treetops and rock piles. After a hike into the park, we arrived at the most beautiful natural amphitheater we'd ever seen, with a huge tree as the stage, and a backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Truly idyllic.

And with the addition of live music, as the sun dipped into the sea, we could not have asked for a more gorgeous day. Enjoy the photos :)

Monday: Finding Focus

This weekend was one of pure perfection. We saw our friend Suzanne Schwind's violin students play at the farmers' market, visited our dear friend Gail Ritchie's ceramic booth at the Civic Center, and joined in for the SF LitCrawl (drag queens reading celebrity tweets -- yes please!). On Sunday we took a sun-soaked hike on Mt. Tam with Uncle Joe and then made our way to a secret "stage," overlooking the ocean, for one of the most magical concerts we've even been to, with performances by Tiny Home and TaughtMe.

It was a wonderful mix of cultural and musical adventures and we feel so thankful to live in such a vibrant and creative community. We'll post more photos from all these events later this week, but here is just a taste of the enchanting concert on Mt. Tam :)
