Alissa + Brent: Anniversary Photo Session at Stanford University in Palo Alto

We met Alissa + Brent last year at Liz + Will's wedding, and these love birds made quite the impression: they were some of the most memorable guests on the dance floor! They had some totally amazing moves and we got some awesome photos of them in action.

We were so happy to connect with them again when Alissa contacted us about setting up an anniversary photo session at Stanford University in Palo Alto. After having such a great time with them strolling through campus, sharing laughs, cooling off in the shade, and stretching out on the green lawn under the sun, it was clear that they are the perfect partners for each other, both on and off the dance floor. :)

Lauren + Steve: San Francisco Engagement Photography at Baker Beach and the Legion of Honor

Lauren + Steve got engaged on the beach, with Steve setting up a treasure hunt for Lauren that ended with an actual treasure chest, holding a gorgeous diamond engagement ring. So it seemed utterly perfect to have their engagement photo session at another beach; this time, San Francisco's Baker Beach. It was a classic, romantic foggy summer afternoon, and these two love birds took the opportunity to get cozy in each other's arms. We could not have asked for a more wonderful duo to photograph. Not only do they look like super models (Lauren's outfits were stunning and so colorful!) but they are also incredibly playful. We were all laughing like goofballs and cracking jokes. By the time we arrived at the Legion of Honor, Lauren + Steve were having so much fun, they took the occasion to sprint, hand in hand, through the colonnades.

We're so excited to Lauren + Steve's wedding this fall! Congratulations sweeties!!

Photo Session with Wilderness Skills Expert Matt Forkin

Our friend Matt is an incredible wilderness expert, who has spent many years honing his skills in primitive methods of living. We spent an afternoon with him in the Marin Headlands, photographing this real-life caveman, using and demonstrating all the carefully handcrafted wares he has learned to make, while wearing a buckskin outfit he also designed. It's like Matt just escaped from a natural history museum display and is now free in the woods! Pretty fantastic :) Enjoy!

Juniper's 100 Day Celebration on Mt. Tam

The Request:

Hi Friends and Family,

We want to invite you take part in a special celebration for Juniper. She's going to be 100 days old soon, and we're launching her into this beautiful life with the love of friends and family in a unique way that will be magical and meaningful :)

How are we going to do this?!

This is an invitation for you to be part of her life, to join her on her journey as she grows up and forges her own path. How do we plan on doing this? We're asking you to make one promise that Juniper can count on you for when she is older. This may be a skill you share with her, the pledge to spend quality time together, or some other contribution that utilizes your passions and talents. These promises can range from the frivolous to the practical, from the absurd to the meaningful, from the rare to the common. Some examples include: teaching her to skateboard, taking her to work with you, introducing her to a new cuisine, playing her music, reading her a book, learning to whistle, backpacking in the woods, proof reading her resume, helping her with algebra, talking to her about dating, going to a dance class together, road tripping, or .... you get the idea!

Start brainstorming. We'll bring paper to the celebration, and you can write your note to her describing what she can count on you for, and we'll collect them and put them in a box for her to tap into once she is a little older. Bonus points if you want to demo your skillz at the gathering!

Surprise location?!

We've already taken baby on many hikes and she is wide-eyed for nature, and we'll be celebrating on Mt. Tam (exact location is secret and will be sent to those who RSVP). Anticipate walking in about 1.5 miles. Bring a sack lunch and lots of water!

Why are we doing this?!

With a new life in our community, what better excuse is there to celebrate our interconnection, the love we have for each other, and for Juniper!

We couldn't have asked for a more magical afternoon, in a misty fairytale landscape, surrounded by all our favorite humans.
