San Francisco Engagement Photography Session: Savanna + Eli

      "This is the most fun I've ever had during an engagement session," Sam chortled from behind his camera.  "You say that to every couple!" Eli responded.  "No, this is seriously the best!"

       It was hard to tell who was smiling more, the photographers, or the adorable couple, Savanna + Eli.  Their laughter was so infectious that it brought to mind that scene from Mary Poppins where everybody starts floating to the ceiling because they can't stop laughing.​

       We spent a sun-soaked afternoon with the couple in Golden Gate Park, and laughed so hard, it was hard to remember what was so funny.  That's one thing that Savanna + Eli have in common, an incredible sense of humor, and a shining, beautiful, joyful spirit.​  Clearly, a perfect match.

       Not only did we give ourselves side-aches from the silliness, Savanna also gave us an education on the plants at the Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park.  She's a docent, and was able to show us new paths through the garden, and talk about all the plants like they were old friends. 

       We love these two and are so happy for their engagement! ​We hope you enjoy these photos from their day in Golden Gate Park.

Monday: Finding Focus

       Few things feel more fulfilling than spending a weekend with friends. We danced the night away in the Castro on Friday for Caroline's bday, went to brunch (ohh crepes!) and for a hike in Glen Canyon on Saturday morning with Sunisa + Nat, and at 9pm that evening, we took engagement photos with the hilarious duo, Bess + Charlie, in their apartment for a "reality of life" spoof. The photos are amazing!

       Weekends are never complete without accomplishing a few household chores too.  On Sunday, Sam teetered on a ladder outside our home, scrubbing the windows and wall with buckets of warm, sudsy water, while his mother-in-law held the ladder steady. There's nothing like working up a sweat to earn some time to just sit and veg out.  After Sam returned from the cold, we snuggled on the couch and re-discovered the genius of Lucille Ball and laughed our faces off to some old "I Love Lucy" episodes.

       This week we are starting to prepare for a week long trip to Austin, to photograph Angela + Erica's destination wedding (we're so excited for them!) and also to shoot the music festival at SXSW for the paper. March is off to a fantastic start.

       We photographed Eileen + Jed's wedding last summer,​ and Alex was their day-of event planner. He is so amazing at what he does! Calm, organized and always with a huge smile across his face! We met up with him in Dolores Park last week to take some headshots for his new website :)

San Francisco Couples Photography Session with Dog: Alex + Matt

       We met with Alex last week at Dolores Park, an amazing event planner, in San Francisco to take professional headshots for him.  However, when his partner, Matt, and his dog, Houdini came along, we knew we just had to take some photos of them all together.  So much love!  Get ready for some ridiculously adorable photos :) ​

Napa Valley Engagement Photography Session: Julia + Ian

​       Napa Valley is famous for their blooming spring mustard flowers. The whole landscape changes, turning into brilliant fields of gold. We were so excited when Julia + Ian suggested we take a road trip up north to take their engagement photos among the yellow flowers. Seriously, the best location a photographer could ask for! Julia + Ian also brought their bikes and motorcycle, which fit perfectly in the idyllic setting.  How cute are they riding their bicycles together in the mustard fields - and how skilled are they for doing so while holding each others' hands?

       Taking photos with Julia + Ian was the best! They are such a sweet couple, and we adore them! So excited to take photos at their wedding later this year :)​
